About Honors at FC

INSTRUCTOR HANDBOOK

Overview

There are several groups of individuals involved in overseeing the activities of the Honors Program. The program is primarily overseen by the Honors Advisory Board, which consists of 10 faculty and the coordinator in voting positions and 6 faculty in advisory non-voting positions. Board members serve a two year term through elections run by the Faculty Senate. The Coordinator is elected to a three-year term by the Faculty Senate based on a recommendation from the Honors Board. The Honors Coordinator reports to the Honors Administrative Advisor and the Executive Vice-President of the College.

Additionally, the Honors Program in its day-to-day operation is run by three interns, budget permitting, who report to the Honors Coordinator. The goal of this administrative program is to provide honors students an opportunity to contribute to and develop the Honors Program so that it better meets the needs of honors students.

The Honors Program also has its own academic counselor at the Counseling Center. For help with scheduling your courses and meeting your academic goals as an honors student it is strongly recommended that you consult with this counselor.
